The DMA “Clinical Pilates Instructor” course has been developed specifically by Craig Phillips to
provide a support system for Clinical Pilates trained physiotherapists with level 1-4 Clinical Pilates.
Units of competency for the course have been uniquely developed by identifying the specific
needs of physiotherapists and will be delivered in the South Yarra clinic over a 20 week
programme.
This professional Clinical Pilates Instructor training is the only Clinical Pilates course of its type,
developed specifically for the physiotherapy industry.

The “Certificate in Clinical Pilates Instruction” is delivered by Hydie Pallier (Dip Perf Arts, Cert IV
Workplace Training & Assessment) whose experience & knowledge working alongside physiotherapists
for over 10 years, ensures the highest standards of training.
The programme runs over 20 weeks, with weekly 4 hour contact sessions plus work observation,
personal practice hours and self directed learning. Competencies will be assessed & tested throughout
the learning process.

pre requisites for course entry
This course does not limit access and equity, however to be selected for instructor training and to get
the most out of it you need to be passionate about health & wellbeing issues, have well developed
communication skills, be well presented and enjoy learning. You need to be reasonably fit and
healthy yourself to be able to be active and involved.

It is essential that you have your Certificate IV in Massage as a minimum.

Qualifications in Remedial Massage are well regarded, as is a Degree in Human Movement, Performing Arts or Physical Education etc.

At the end of our instructor course you are eligible to join the APA as a Physiotherapy Assistant associate member at a cost of $150 which is encouraged by DMA. Your prior qualifications will support your entry.

DMA Offers the course to you at $3,000 plus GST; we offer you the course plus assistance to find employment at the end if required. we have links with physiotherapists who are eager to place people with these skills into their clinics.

To gain your Clinical Pilates Instructor Certificate and gain employment you must pass all the assessment requirements, have attended all the training sessions and proven yourself to be a committed and reliable Clinical Pilates Instructor.
